SHAME ON YOU, AMERICA

The United States of America needs to take a good look at itself after this year’s, 2020, presidential elections. This country should be ashamed of itself for supporting a bigot, sexist, racist, ablest, despicable, narcissist, and just a mean individual. They should be ashamed supporting a man that blames everybody else except himself for mistakes. A man that has never claimed to be a Christian but depended on the Christian Church for their votes. 

In fact America doubled down this year by voting for this president. America should be saying “I’m sorry,” but it won’t. America should be embarrassed of itself, but it’s not. America is defiant now as it was defiant after the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960’s. America your racism is showing again, and you are not shameful; you do not care. 

Minorities have dealt with this before, and have strived and survived. They will do it again. Minorities have faced hardships and pain. They will do it again. Families have been separated, killed, maimed, and jailed for freedom; it happened again, this is the racial legacy of the United States. 

America, you need to look at yourself; four years ago a woman ran for the highest office in the land and won the popular vote by three million votes. One rich man made a mockery of our voting system by using the Electoral College to victory. WHICH IS LEGAL. This has been done before. This week that same individual now can be heard whining because the system might not work for him this time. He now claims that somehow America has cheated him out of votes. REALLY, Mr. President, if you govern with a strong clear political vision with a strong clear political goal for everybody and every American, the people would vote for you. 

America let Republicans block President Obama Supreme Court nominee four years ago and just stood there and watched President Trump push his Supreme Court nominee through in 30 days without a fight and this was o.k.

My fellow Americans this is democracy in action or inaction.

This is the mindset of the current ruling class in America who has really never suffered except for the crash of 1929. This ruling class continues to make up the rules as they go along and change them whenever they see fit. This is complete power and complete control. It has been done in sports, it has been done in business, and now it is trying to be done in politics. 

If Donald J. Trump were Black, he would have gotten his butt kicked for being ignorant, he would have gotten beaten up for being racist, and he would have been smacked up side the wall for making fun of people less able then himself and being a sexist. His mother and father would have set him straight growing up. 

Privilege gets you in trouble sometimes and this is one of those times.

The Trump administration separated refugee-immigrate children from families in his early days of his term, this has happened before. Slave families were separated in this country’s early stage, and Native American families were separated in the 1800’s and repeated every century until 1970’s. This is nothing new and accepted by the American public. 

These are some of the issues the American people should have objected too and said no, they did not because it did not affect them. This is just another example of systemic racism that Middle America tolerates, accepts, and ignores. 

Question, have they (our government) ever separated white children from their parents? We all know that answer.

Donald J. Trump never should have been President of the United States. Mr. Trump has been allowed to say and do things no other president has ever said or done. President George Washington and Abraham Lincoln would be blushing red with the words of Donald J. Trump.

This man has been allowed to do certain things to certain groups of people without consequences. He has caused confusion and deceit with our democratic political structure. Mr. Trump claims to be a business man that wanted to make America great again. How is that working out? 

With Covid-19, job losses, bankruptcies, police brutality, foreclosures, race tension, and blatant sexism, Americans are struggling just to put food on the table.

Americans Shame on you for making this election closer than what it should have been. America Shame on you for supporting his policies of detaining Latino children in cages, instituting a travel ban on a certain group and for sending bigoted rages to Middle Eastern Americans. America, Shame on you for following this man who does not believe in science or the facts of science. Thousands and thousands of Americans died because of this deadly disease, died unnecessarily.

As a Black man I do not know if I can ever trust you (America) again because of that BAD side of you that shows up every once in awhile. That side that you are not willing to give up. That side that you continue to give silent support. The side the Donald J. Trump never denounced.

It is time to make America a better place to live, a better place to work and a better place to play. It is time to truly help our brothers and sisters. 

Let’s get rid of that shame and be proud Americans once again.

Let’s make 2020 a turning point for this great nation, let’s make 2021 a year when people really cared for each other. Let’s all work for a better New Year in the United States. The Storm is about to end and the sunlight is just over the horizon
